As we enter the New Year poised to take on new challenges and build on our past successes, the National Juvenile Defender Center Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Mary Ann Scali has accepted our appointment as NJDC’s Executive Director. Mary Ann has led the organization for several months as acting executive director, drawing upon her vast experience during her sixteen years as NJDC’s deputy director and a career dedicated to growing the juvenile defense community and developing initiatives to bring justice to children. The Board is confident that Mary Ann is the right leader for NJDC today, and we are delighted that she has agreed to step into this new role.
Please join us in congratulating Mary Ann as she embarks on this new chapter in NJDC’s important work. We look forward to working with her, the talented staff at NJDC, our regional centers, and all of you to advocate for fundamental fairness for children in our delinquency systems and to ensure their rights and well-being are protected. Thank you all for your dedication and hard work.
Happy New Year,
Philip T. Inglima
Chair, NJDC Board of Directors
